Ningjin County, a global hub for commercial fitness equipment, stole the spotlight at the 2025 China International Sporting Goods Expo in Nanchang with its cutting-edge Pilates reformers. Local firm Fanyi Sports Technology showcased a reformer featuring embedded slide rails and tension-optimized ropes, praised by Australian buyer Sam Rankin for its “smooth operation and ergonomic precision.”
The new model claims a 30% improvement in spinal correction and 25% higher fat-burning efficiency compared to conventional designs. “Our innovation focuses on biomechanical alignment and user-centric customization,” explained CEO Shi Chunlei. Ningjin’s 28 fitness equipment firms reported a 26.7% revenue surge to $1.4 billion (10.14 billion RMB) in Q1 2025, driven by a 60% year-on-year export growth.
The county’s strategy to merge “innovation with manufacturing” has elevated its global standing, with 120 exhibitors at the expo highlighting AI-integrated, eco-friendly gear. “We’re targeting $5 billion in annual output by 2030,” said Zhang Qiang, director of Ningjin’s education and sports bureau.
